  1. Humbird says:

I don’t know where else to put this:

    Happy Birthday Lio Messi.

  2. pintadoazulblanco says:

Yes, and celebrate the birthday on Sunday with a goal, or two or three.

  3. Chris says:

I pray to God we do… im not kidding you Ron, im seriously really nervous about Sunday Bro… I just know Mexico is going to play as if its a Final.

  4. Chris says:

I come to u for some words of Comfort please ! 🙂

  5. pintadoazulblanco says:

Well, I think we will all be nervous before the start of the game but there is no reason to stress.

I do not expect Mexico to drop back and defend with their entire team. Mexico will go on the attack which will create plenty of spaces and openings for Argentina.

Reasons to be confident about the game on Sunday:

Samuel will be back to lead the defense.

Mascherano will be back in the lineup and will be the great defensive presence that he is.

Di Maria, Tevez, Higuain and Messi will be leading the attack.

Argentina is focused, motivated and hungry and it is going to play the game like it is a final as well.

and one more reason to be confident:

    Our ace of spades.

We have the best player in the world.

No other team has that advantage.

Messi’s world cup will truly begin against Mexico.

    Don’t worry Chris.

Argentina is about to take off in this world cup.

  6. Chris says:

    Thanks Brother, I appreciate it…

im just concerned about our defense, its not the strongest….im glad Samuel is back, i agree with u on that, but my worry is I know Heinze is rough at times, and like to foul a lot, and Masche is already with one yellow…

But I trust you, and I will keep my head up on Sunday.

Can you tell me si se borran las amarillas in this up coming round ?? do we start over, or none fall off??
    sorry for the spanglish..

Thanks again for the words of Encouragement Ron..

  7. pintadoazulblanco says:

Yellow card accumulation will carry over into the elimination rounds. FIFA changed that rule in this world cup.

So, any players that pickup a second yellow card on Sunday will be suspended for the next game.

As far as the backline, it’ll be interesting to see if Maradona will make any changes.

Will Otamendi & Clemente Rodriguez’s performances against Greece cause Maradona to make some changes to the backline?

Will Jonas be back in the lineup?

As an improvised right-back or in the midfield?

  8. pintadoazulblanco says:

Unfortunately, it looks like Veron will be in the starting lineup. Just like Heinze, Maradona is married to Veron and will support him no matter what.

It is so obvious that Veron is not the player that can best deliver balls to Messi and be the player that Messi needs to link up with.

Veron ties Messi down. Veron slows down Messi’s mental & physical pace on the field.

That is one of the reasons why Messi has not exploded in this world cup.

Pastore proved in just 15 minutes of play that he can partner more effectively with Messi & can do a good job of linking up with him.

Pastore did in 15 minutes what Veron has not been able to do in the entire world cup so far.

  9. Brian says:

Well it is Sunday before the game, and Veron is not starting. So you were wrong there. Maradona will do whatever it takes to win.
But I want to say again how great Palermo’s goal was. He has been waiting a lifetime for that goal. And as an hincha de Boca, it was unbelievable!
