Carlos Tevez hoping for new deal at Manchester City as Real Madrid eye striker
The News of the World report today that Real Madrid have targeted Carlos Tevez , who after just one season at Manchester City is hoping to secure a new deal.
Tevez’s advisers believe he “he has not maximized his earning potential,” although he currently earns £130,000 a week, the Argentinean striker believes he should be on £160,000 a week which Robinho was on at Manchester City .
Rob Shepherd in the News of the World adds that “he knows his Argentina team-mate Lionel Messi is in on approaching £30m a year at Barcelona. On the basis he can be a major force alongside Messi at the World Cup, Tevez is ready to press to become English football’s top earner.”
Real Madrid and Inter Milan are following developments. Los Blancos will almost certainly bring some more big name players to the Bernabeu this summer and Tevez was close to signing for the Nerazzurri when he left Manchester United.
In 2009/2010, Carlos Tevez has scored 17 goals in 29 Premier League games for Manchester City , he has also chipped in with six assists.
