Europa League Draw

The draw for the quarterfinals stage of the Europa League was also held today.

Plenty of Argentine players involved in this tournament as well.

Valencia will unfortunately be without Ever Banega for both legs against Sergio Aguero’s Atletico de Madrid because Banega was suspended due to a red card that he received in the previous round of the tournament.

Aimar, Saviola, Di Maria’s Benfica will play against Mascherano, Insua and Maxi Rodriguez’s Liverpool.

I’m starting to wonder if its a good thing that so many Argentine players that will be in the WC squad and others that may make the WC squad are playing so many games deep into the season with the start of the World Cup so close.

Let’s hope that no serious injuries occur to any of our players.

Let’s also hope that our European based players will have lots of strength and energy left for the World Cup.

Tough draw for Liverpool, but after the last 2 games we will be confident against anybody at the moment, including Man Utd tomorrow.

Interesting to see Insua put in one of his best performances of the season on Thursday in front of watching Diego. Anybody else see the game, any thoughts on his performance?

Maxi also put in his best performance to date in a Liverpool shirt against Portsmouth on Monday gone. Seems both could be hitting form at the right time, although it may be to late for Insua.

I only saw the highlights but I will be watching the game tomorrow against Manchester United.

    Looking forward to it.

As far as Insua. I prefer to see him in the left-back spot in the world cup instead of Heinze.

As far as I’m concerned, Insua has shown enough with Liverpool to get a chance to play in the world cup.

What a horror show it will be with Heinze as the starting left-back. I’m already cringing.
