im happy for our players, but at the same time im bumbed out for RM,.

I didn’t get to watch the game, but I read some articles about it this morning, apparently they are saying Pipita had a lot to blame for..(can you confirm this?)

i saw some of the highlights, he had two good shots, one that hit the post. dude, what a huge upset..

yep, really feel sorry for real madrid there home stadium will host the final and they won’t be playing it. Gonzalo linked up well with the team but was let down by a poor finishing. I guess higuain doesn’t have european pedigree as yet as he is on form in la liga, but he is still very young only 22 yrs old he will eventually develop into a world class poacher(hopefully). Out of all the rm players i feel for cr9 the most by far.

Chris, I got home last night later than expected so I was only able to watch the second half.

During the second half the brit commentator was saying that Higuain should have had a hat-trick.

Apparently he missed several goal scoring chances.

But thats how it is with goal scorers, they go on hot streaks and then they have some temporary bad luck/dry spells.

I can’t believe the goal that Lisandro missed.

From what I was able to see, Lyon defended strongly, their backline and midfield were packed tightly but they did go on the attack, they didn’t just sit back and defend.

I feel bad for Pipita but I think he’ll be alright, he obviously still has alot to play for this season.

I feel bad for all the Madridistas too. I know they had high hopes to see the team play the Champions League Final in their stadium. Huge disappointment.

I’ve rooted for Real Madrid for many years.

One of my all-time favorite players, Fernando Redondo, played there as did Cambiasso and now Higuain.

Argentine players have played an important part in Madrid’s history.

I’ve always had a reason to root for them.

it is sad that maradona won’t pick lisandro for the world cup squad, he didn’t score lyon’s goal, but he is the team’s top scorer and is a very important member of their team. Claude Puel(lyon’s coach) must be wondering why maradona continues to ignore him. Lisandro might as well retire from international football. If maradona does not name lisandro in the world cup squad and he(maradona)continues to coach argentina after the world cup and somehow calls up lisandro after the tournament then if I were lisandro I would tell maradona to shove the call up straight up his ass. It just wouldn’t make any sense if he(lisandro) misses the world cup which he shouldn’t and then gets called up after the tournament. You just wonder how lisandro would feel if that were to happen to him.

I agree with you Mauricef. Lisandro should be in the WC squad, ahead of Aguero and Palermo but that is pretty much impossible.

Maradona will not keep his son in law and his friend and Boca idol out of the WC squad.

Madrid players blame Higuain for the CL elimination?

or is it just the Catalan media adding insult to injury?

  5. Chris says:

thats pretty sad, i hope he doesn’t take this critisism seriously..

so did you hear that he got injured??/ is that true?

have you read or heard any interviews by him yet?
man, this really sucks, i hope he stays in form.

  6. pintadoazulblanco says:

It may just be the Catalan media adding more fuel to the fire. Needless to say, they are really enjoying Madrid’s elimination.

But if he’s being made the scapegoat by his teammates that is really sad.

I have not heard of an injury.

The only thing I saw in the game was Higuain getting an elbow to the face but he seemed to be alright and continued playing.

  7. pintadoazulblanco says:

I just checked MARCA and they do not have any news of an Higuain injury.

They are usually quick and first to publish any breaking news about Real Madrid.

Where did you read that Pipita is injured?

  8. Chris says:

I was just curious, RM website said this morning that him and a couple other players were training inside the gym this morning, not with the full squad on the field, wasn’t sure if it was do to injury or what not.
    hopefully not..
I read they were criticizing Kaka alot as well (well thats been an on going issue since’s he’s came on the squad) but i guess they were booing him when he was replaced.
I hope this doesn’t affect Pipita. he needs to come back this weekend, and start scoring some goals again.

  9. pintadoazulblanco says:

Pipita is mentally tough, he’ll bounce back.

Plus, he’ll be, hopefully, playing in his first world cup soon so I don’t think he’ll get sidetracked. I believe that he’ll stay focused.

As far as Kaka, I think it would be fair to say that his form has not been very impressive.

We all know he is a great player but I don’t think he’s shown that so far this season in Madrid.

He probably did not endear himself any further with the Madrid fans by his recent comments that winning the Champions League was not an obligation.

Right or wrong, it was a dumb thing to say.

Hey guys first time posting for me.

Argentina is my team obviously. Nice site. As a fan from the english speaking Caribbean, I am starved for national team info and so I am glad to find a site like this.

I just wanted to add that I did see higuain act selfish, but no more than other strikers would be. Just unfortunate it was not his night.

This team has only recently started to bond as well, hence the great results they have been getting. But before Christmas it was every forward for himself. All wanted the glory. This mentality probably came back in when they were under pressure. No team ethic like BARCA 🙂
