Maradona to meet with Messi and Guardiola

Maradona is currently in Spain and according to a report published in Clarin, the national team manager will be spending time in Barcelona with Messi and his family before leaving for South Africa.

Maradona wants to sit down one on one with Messi and talk to him at length, to get him focused on the world cup and to get him motivated.

Maradona wants Messi to show the same form with Argentina in the world cup as he does with Barcelona.

Maradona also plans to meet with the Barcelona manager to talk about Messi.

I hope this is good news !?!

i dont knw about anyone else, but does anyone think Messi might just do it on purpose for some reason???

now i know he’s not playing with the same players as in Barca, but i just find it strange that he’s in the shadows when he plays for the NT.
Just like last weeks game when he scored twice, the guy was all over the place on the field, and for the NT, he’s anonymous…i might be wrong, but I just find it strange. he’s a different man when he’s with the barca jersey. its incredible how he gives his ALL for that team !

    sad to say.

Messi is a different player with the Barca jersey because he is surrounded by players that are capable of delivering quality balls to him and are capable of linking up with him.

If Messi had Zabaleta, Aimar, Banega, Cambiasso in the lineup:

Would he receive the ball more often?

Would the quality of the passes that he received be better?

Would he have to drop back to the midfield constantly to have contact with the ball?

      I really don’t blame Messi.

I think its a football problem made worse by Maradona who refuses to see that Messi will not be able to play well in a lineup with fullbacks that cannot make attacking runs and with a midfield that will have two defensive players and an old, injury prone, physically unfit, playmaker.

  2. pintadoazulblanco says:

I find it odd that Maradona believes that all he needs to do is give Messi a motivational talk and that will cause Messi to play great in the world cup.

    Is he really that clueless?

Does Maradona really believe that Messi can shine in the world cup like he does in Barca with the lineup and system that he wants Messi to play in during the world cup?

  3. pintadoazulblanco says:

If that’s Maradona’s plan for Messi, talking to him, instead of putting together a team with attacking fullbacks and an attack minded midfield that will play to Messi’s strength’s and bring out he best in him…….well, Messi will have a horrific world cup.

I think this is really good news because if he talks to Guardiola i am almost certain he will tell him what Maradona should do and what players he should have surround Messi now will Maradona listen? thats the question but its a good start i think.

  4. pintadoazulblanco says:

Maradona doesn’t listen to anyone but himself.
