Pastore dreams of being the #10 in the World Cup

Will Pastore be Argentina’s #10 in the World Cup?

Me veo bien. Me encantaría serlo. Ojalá pueda.

Good for Pastore if hes in the starting 11 along with Zanetti Zabaleta and Banega we can be the team that all of us Argentinians want.

    Romero

    Zabaleta Demichellis Samuel Zanetti

    Mascherano Banega

    Patore

    Messi Higuain DiMaria

Good young player but his first tournament should be at the copa america next year. World cup a bit too soon for him. But he may well be in the squad because of a certain coach

Angel Cappa said this week that Pastore is ready to play in the World Cup.

Cappa is someone who’s opinions I highly respect. Besides being Pastore’s former manager, he is a great football mind.

Let’s hope he is right about Pastore!

    Quico882k3,
I love that lineup you posted, i have been saying to my friends that zanetti should play as lb. i think he would do a much better job than heinze and with banega in their teaming up with mascherano its perfect

Thank you Gabriel not only do i think that Zanetti should be in the starting 11 because he is a player of sacrasife and much skill but he can also function in many different positions and does just as good as if he were in his natural position whos to say one of our players is to get injured u need somebody as reliable as zanetti just my opinion.

all jokes aside, I seriously believe he can do it.. for some reason I have high hopes and faith for this kid, and truely believe he can do a great job in the WC.
Messi was taken to the WC at 18, i know its a different style of player, but why cant Pastore do it???
if he’s the best enganche we have at the moment, why not???
unfortunetly i haven’t been able to see any palermo games, but every hightlight or article I read about pastore, its always positive, and always great ratings after a game..
I think with the confedence people give him, and letting him play and let him losen up on the pitch, i see him linking up great with Messi, Higuain, and Di Maria..
beside him, my next choice would probably be Aimar.

Masche scored today, sorry if i killed it for anyone : )

I’ve seen a few Palermo games on TV this season and have been following his season in Italy.

I think a big reason that Pastore is having a much better second half of the season and has settled in with Palermo is that he is now playing in the playmaker position. The idiot that was coaching Palermo at the start of the season had him playing on the left side of the midfield, away from the ball, preventing Pastore from having frequent contact with the ball.

The new Palermo coach figured out quickly that Pastore needed to play in the playmaker position, controlling & distributing the ball.

Pastore’s performances have improved since switching back to his natural position.

    Hi all

i’m new to the site. not new to arg football tho.
like the site alot , kudos !!

i have seen some of Palermo games and so Pastore as well, his second half of the season is better as pointed out but still a bit inconsistent.

no doubt about his potential tho provided he keeps at it.

with regards to the WC , i think maradona sees it as Aimar or Pastore.
I’d have to go with my namesake here, while it maybe a bit bias i think the WC might be better for an experienced head who has proven he can link with argentina’s important players. i
m not saying pastore wont be able to do it but it migght be a hot or miss, and the WC just isnt the place for that.

If i had it my way Veron would be home and Aimar would go as starter and Pastore for the experience and to develop.

I’d like to address a few other points i’ve seen discussed.

Milito D. i think should go WC but not as a starter- but as higuain’s backup. i have a theory that every player in your starting eleven should have a direct back up and milito would be a good back up number 9.

Lisandro I also like and i would like him to go as well but it looks unlikely. For me it should be Tevez or Aguero not both and right now it should be Tevez. I know diego doesn’t think this but its jus my idea.

Clemente i think is not a bad call. here’s why , i think he is the closest we have to Sorin. his energy level is amazing and plays the LB role pretty ok. Can you all remember the game against brazil at the emirates- he was one of our better players.

Also i haven’t heard anyone mention Perotti but i think he should be included in the squad too. Imagine Perotti and Di maria on both wings or as each others back up….you cant go wrong there. I kno his form for the second has dipped a bit but i see it coming back up.

Anyways guys thats just a few thoughts from a guy in Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean

oh btw i am a crazy river fan and was wondering if anyone had some info on Eric Lamela , i know he is currently on the river reserves but isnt he supposed to be the next best thing.

  9. pintadoazulblanco says:

    Hi there,

    Thank you for your comments.

Erik Lamela is still one of River’s most promising players, he did train with the team in the pre-season but he didn’t make the squad. He is only 17 years old and I think he is still at least a year or maybe even two years away from making it to first division football.

Lamela will have to be patient.

River’s lower divisions are full of promising forwards.

Look at Villalva & Funes Mori, they’re the latest up & coming forwards to make the squad.
