Riquelme on returning to the national team

Juan Roman Riquelme spoke in a press conference today and said the following about a possible return to the national team:

“I already said that in June I’ll be on vacation.”

“I’ve been clear and honest. I still think the same thing that I did eleven months ago. I’ve always wanted the best for the national team but I cannot work well with the manager.”

“He sido claro y honesto.

“He sido claro y honesto.

Why can’t you suck it up and just represent your country forget maradona he doesn’t have a brain. You know that argentina needs a play maker, you know that since you have quit messi has been struggling to perform please comeback

  2. Chris says:

Riquelme is a P O S just like Diego is..

Im one to admit, messi played a lot better when Juan was on the team, but for him just giving up on his Team and COUNTRY like that when we were in the worst moment, is being a Chump !!

I agree with Pintadoazul on his thoughts of Riquelme, I didn’t before, but after his comments, I can careless about him.. dont get me wrong, i think he’s a great player, but he does tend to slow the game down too much, and play backwards more often then forward..

  3. Humbird says:

I think he enjoys the attention he gets for this little drama he’s had going on for a while now.

  4. pintadoazulblanco says:

    Humbird, that’s an interesting point.

He may very well be enjoying it.

It just really burns me up to hear an Argentine player minimize a national team call up and an opportunity to represent Argentina in a World Cup.

The ease in which he talks about not being interested in a call up and in playing a world cup because he will be away on vacation is just astounding to me.

I can’t think of any other Argentine player that’s had such a terrible, disgraceful attitude towards the national team.

I really hope he is never called up ever again to the national team.

    Good Riddance!!!!!!!!!!
