The starting eleven against Brasil

Well, the big game is almost a week away and it is time to begin the speculation about the starting lineup.

So who will be in the starting eleven against Brasil?

The GK will definitely be Andujar.

And the rest?

Though this wouldn’t be the ideal team in my opinion, I think Maradona will go with:

D – Zanetti
D – Burdisso
D – Otamendi
D – Heinze

M – Maxi Rodriguez
M – Mascherano
M – Veron
M – ?

F – Messi
F – Aguero

Argentina will go with a 4-4-2 formation and with the news of Jonas Gutierrez’s injury, there is the question now of who will play on the left side of the midfield.

There aren’t too many options so it could be Datolo. There are rumors that Maradona might call up Sebastian Leto or Eduardo Salvio.

The other question is who will partner with Messi upfront? will it be Aguero or Tevez? or will it be a center forward like Lisandro Lopez or Milito?

Who should Maradona go with upfront to take on Brasil’s big central defenders?

Analyzing the players called up and the lineup possibilities, whoever ends up playing, it will be one of Argentina’s worst starting lineups for a Brasil game in many years.

well, i’ve said it before but its worth mentioning. Jose Mourinho is inmo the best coach in the game. hes won the UEFA Cup, Portuguese Cup, English Cup, 2 english titles, 1 serie A title, and the champions league. maradona has won nothing as a manager and was at the helm of Argentina’s most embarrassing defeat in 16 years. Maradona rates Burdisso as a mainstay in his side. Mourinho never played Burdisso last year, and after trying to off load him for six months with no takers, he finally sent him to Roma. Hmmm, something isn’t right about that picture. players not wanted by their clubs shouldn’t play for Argentina! Roman playing when he was exiled by Pellegrini at Villareal was fine with me, b/c he wasn’t played b/c of off the field issues. No one has ever doubted that Roman is world class. plenty of doubted burdisso. even more have doubted colloccini and Heinze. Gonzalo Rodriguez, reliable in La Liga and the Champions League, waits.

    I agree with your comment.

I was thinking about Gonzalo Rodriguez today and how he could really help the national team as one of the central defenders.

Maradona calling up players like Coloccini and Burdisso and not Gonzalo Rodriguez is inexplicable to me.

Rodriguez is better than them both in every aspect.

Better at marking, better defending in the air, quicker in anticipating plays, better at controlling the ball and moving forward from his zone with the ball.
