Lionel Messi won the “Di Stéfano trophy” given to the Best Player in Spain.

Messi won the award for his fantastic performance in La Liga last season.

Also, during the ceremony, in honor of their legendary playing careers, Maradona and Di Stéfano were given large front page covers from the Madrid newspaper MARCA.

    He’s receiving alot of awards, but the truth is that the World Cup is all that matters.

    Messi, like any other player, is accountable for his form with the national team but as far as the WC, he can’t do it all by himself.

    Maradona has 7 months to figure out which are the best players to surround Messi with, have a system in place with a set tactical formation and a steady lineup and establish a football idea and identity for the team

    Needless to say, Maradona has alot of work to do.
