Liverpool eye Inter’s Cambiasso
Liverpool are planning to bring in Inter’s Esteban Cambiasso if Xabi Alonso or Javier Mascherano leave the club.
Both Alonso and Mascherano have been the subject of interest from top Spanish clubs, Real Madrid in Alonso’s case and European champions Barcelona in Mascherano’s.
Liverpool has made it clear that they do not wish to sell either of the midfielders, but considering the club’s involved, and the player’s refusal to commit to the Reds, they are keeping an eye out for potential replacements.
Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has reportedly set his eyes on Cambiasso as the ideal replacement for either Alonso or Mascherano.
The Argentinean has been a key player for the Nerazzurri since his 2004 move from Real Madrid, making 153 league appearances and helping the club win the league four times in a row from 2006 to 2009.
The 28-year-old is known to be one of Inter Milan manager Jose Mourinho’s favourite players though, so any bid would need to be accompanied by a sizeable offer.
Manchester City are also said to be among the clubs interested in the player’s services.

good old Cambiasso. If he never does another thing in his career, I will always thank him for that 2-0 goal vs. Serbia in 2006. That was a magic time.

Yeah, that was an unforgettable game. Football Magic!
Cambiasso is still young though, he was in fantastic form with Inter all season long.
It’s a shame that Maradona chooses to ignore him and picks someone like Jonas Gutierrez instead of Cuchu to play on the left side of the midfield.
Gutierrez on his best day is not as good as Cambiasso.
